About Project

WE ARE CONTINUING...

First increasing the ‘enrolment rates’ and now the ‘attendance rates’; Turkey and the European Union, both of which aim a longer and a higher quality education period especially for girls, are entering a new and a comprehensive phase in their common endeavour, which started in 2011 under the coordination of the Ministry of National Education.

In this second phase, KEP II, which started in 2015, the main target is to ‘increase the school attendance rates especially for girls’.

Within the framework of the project, a series of activities would be realized with the participation of the children, their families, education professionals, local opinion leaders and bureaucrats; so as to enable the children who had enrolled but had to quit due to various reasons to continue their education.

The activities would be concentrated mainly in the 15 eastern provinces (Muş, Bitlis, Siirt, Batman, Bingöl, Ağrı, Kars, Erzurum, Iğdır, Şanlıurfa, Mardin, Diyarbakır, Van, Şırnak, Hakkari).

In the scope of a two years working calendar, tens of thousands of children, their families, education professionals, local opinion leaders and bureaucrats would be reached, field researches would be realized, trainers would be trained, meetings, seminars, conferences and festivals would be held. General public would be reached by nationwide media campaigns.

Ministry of National Education, which says ‘We are continuing’ with KEP II, is continuing to work for a better, higher quality education for more children, especially for girls.
